The silhouette seems to be seeking 'refuge' by sitting under the tree, and the fact that the silhouette is the only dark thing in the drawing points to a feeling that the silhouette may have in being alone. The background in the drawing is almost entirely white bright (except for parts of the tree, which is otherwise much brighter in the silhouette), and this further suggests a secluded silhouette.
